Eleven-year-old Jamie Sullivan of Cowan, Tennessee is just the spittin' image of a young Opie Taylor. For the last few years, Jamie has delighted Mayberry fans through his portrayal of Opie, singing songs, having his photo taken with fans, riding in parades and signing autographs.

"Little kids think I'm really Opie," Jamie told the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

His Mayberry career began in 1999 when he won an Opie look-alike contest in Huntsville, Alabama. Kenneth Junkin (who's with us this year as Otis) was one of the judges.
Jamie has portrayed Opie at the last four Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, N.C. He's also performed at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, "Mule Days" in Gordo, Alabama, and the "Mayberry Squad Car Nationals" in Fayette, Alabama. Jamie was featured on TV Land's show "Inside TV Land: The Andy Griffith Show" which premiered March 21, 2000.
